Down the Dulles toll road, past the big names of our modern age, and dotted with trees of white flowers in full bloom, this second day of April. The chill there, but outside the windows, making the world outside desirable and still forbidding.
It’s still a no man’s land in some ways, still too far. It’s a land with colleges that advertise on late night tv, and requires an extra effort to get to. Yet with time it has become a place hard to get through. It is taking on a meaning beyond “far”
